Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed this World Cup will be his last. The 41-year-old made the declaration before Portugal's last-16 match against Spain in Dallas.

Ronaldo, playing at a record sixth World Cup, said he leaves with no regrets. He stressed he will end his career on his own terms.

"Let this be my last World Cup," Ronaldo told reporters. "I have given all I could to football."

The former Real Madrid forward is confident Portugal can defeat a strong Spanish side. He called Spain the favorite but believes small details will decide the match.

Ronaldo will make his 233rd appearance for Portugal if he plays. His scoring record against Spain includes a memorable hat-trick in a 3-3 draw at the 2018 World Cup.
