Former ESPN broadcaster Keith Olbermann criticized the U.S. men's ice hockey team for their interest in accepting President Trump's invitation to his State of the Union address. This comes as the women's hockey team declined the same gesture.

Both teams recently secured Olympic gold medals. While the women's team cited prior commitments, Olbermann accused the men of being "stupid, self-absorbed and misogynistic" for considering the political appearance.

Olbermann also took issue with the White House's social media post featuring an eagle attacking a goose following the men's victory, calling it "Trump's Trash White House."

Players like Matthew Tkachuk expressed honor at hearing from the President. It remains unclear if the men's team officially accepted the invitation. Trump's address is scheduled for Tuesday.
