LONDON - Arsenal teenager Max Dowman, 16 years and 73 days old, made Premier League history Saturday by scoring the clinching goal in a 2-0 home win over Everton.

Fellow substitute Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring in the 89th minute after a Dowman cross. With Everton keeper Jordan Pickford forward for a late corner, Dowman intercepted the ball, sprinted half the pitch, and slotted home.

The win moved Arsenal to 70 points from 31 games - provisionally 10 points clear of Manchester City, who had 60 from 29.

Dowman is now Arsenal’s youngest-ever goalscorer and the youngest in Premier League history.
