BRIGHTON, England - Liverpool manager Arne Slot says his team is dropping too many points in the Premier League after a 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion-their 10th league defeat this season, the most since 2015-16.

The loss leaves Liverpool with just one point from their last nine available, jeopardizing their top-four position despite still sitting fifth.

“There is always pressure at Liverpool. On me, on the players. That is completely normal,” Slot told TNT Sports. “We’ve qualified for the FA Cup and Champions League quarter-finals, but we must secure Champions League football via the league.”

Slot acknowledged Brighton’s quality but stressed that losses in winnable matches-like last week’s against Tottenham-are more concerning than setbacks at the Amex Stadium.

He cited recurring struggles following European fixtures, pointing to their midweek 4-0 Champions League win over Galatasaray as a factor. “In the second half, Brighton were the better team,” he conceded.

Injuries compounded the problem: Mohamed Salah and goalkeeper Alisson missed the match, and striker Hugo Ekitike exited within minutes of kickoff.

“It was bad enough he wasn’t able to continue. It was a blow for him and for us,” Slot said.
