LIV Golf Establishes First U.S. Team: Oklahoma Golf Club (OKGC)

LIV Golf has officially rebranded Smash GC into OKGC, or Oklahoma Golf Club. This marks the league's first U.S.-based team franchise. OKGC will debut at Maaden LIV Golf Virginia from May 7-10.

Talor Gooch, the 2023 LIV Golf Individual Champion and a native of Midwest City, Oklahoma, will captain OKGC. The team also includes Jason Kokrak, Graeme McDowell, and Harold Varner III. The rebranding honors Gooch's home state and is intended to expand LIV Golf's presence in the U.S. market, enhancing global and regional partnerships.

Gooch, an alumnus of Oklahoma State University, highlighted the potential for player recruitment and fan engagement through connections with top collegiate programs like Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma. He stated, "This is incredibly meaningful to me. Oklahoma is where I grew up and where I learned how to compete."
