Stephen Larkham has signed a contract extension with the ACT Brumbies through the end of the 2028 season. The current Super Rugby Pacific leaders, the Brumbies have started the season with three consecutive wins, including victories over the Canterbury Crusaders and Auckland Blues.

Larkham, who has seen his profile rise, was reportedly considered for the All Blacks coaching position. However, the former Wallabies flyhalf stated his immediate focus is on his current role in Canberra. "We've got a really good group of players here, a really good staffing group. I'm enjoying the way the boys are training and the performances that they're putting on the field," Larkham told reporters.

Despite his current commitment, Larkham confirmed his ambition to coach at the test level in the future. "I think those ambitions are warming a little bit," he stated. "I feel that over the last four years, that's really taken a turn for a positive and I've sort of got a better grasp of what's involved."

Larkham previously coached the Brumbies from 2014-2017 and served as attack coach for the Wallabies before a stint in Ireland with Munster. He returned to the Brumbies in 2022 and has since re-established them as Australia's top Super Rugby franchise.
