Manchester City has condemned the racist abuse directed at Antoine Semenyo during Monday's 3-3 draw against Everton, and at Marc Guehi on social media afterward.

Everton confirmed that Merseyside Police arrested a 71-year-old man on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offense. He has been bailed with conditions barring him from approaching any stadium four hours before and after matches.

City praised the swift action by Everton and police against the individual, while blasting the separate online attacks on Guehi following his costly mistake on the field-a weak back pass that allowed Everton's Thierno Barry to equalize.

“We will continue to offer our full support to both Antoine and Marc and never accept discrimination of any kind in our game,” City stated.

The draw leaves City five points behind league leaders Arsenal, though they have a game in hand.
