The NBA has banned two fans for life after one ran onto the court during Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. The incident occurred midway through the fourth quarter at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The fan approached Spurs star Victor Wembanyama looking for a selfie while play was ongoing. Security quickly detained the individual and escorted him off the floor. Play was stopped for one minute and 29 seconds before resuming with a jump ball.
"I've never been in that situation," Wembanyama said. "I didn't know how to act." The league stated that both individuals will be banned from all NBA arenas. Game 2 is scheduled for Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
