The Norwegian Football Federation has formally backed an ethics complaint against FIFA President Gianni Infantino, accusing him of violating political neutrality rules.

NFF president Lise Klaveness confirmed the letter of support was submitted, triggering political friction within FIFA.

The complaint, filed by human rights group FairSquare, objects to Infantino awarding a 'peace prize' to President Donald Trump at the 2026 World Cup draw in December.

Klaveness said the NFF acted independently, without pressuring other associations to join. FIFA officials reacted during a meeting in Budapest over the Champions League final, where Klaveness described discussions as constructive.

The NFF plans to push the issue after the World Cup.
