BURNLEY, England - Burnley coach Scott Parker expressed pride in his team's remarkable fighting spirit after they staged a dramatic comeback against Brentford. Trailing by three goals, Burnley fought back to level the score, only to concede a late winner, resulting in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss.

Relegation-threatened Burnley, who have secured draws against top clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool this season, now sit eight points adrift of safety. Brentford, meanwhile, moved closer to the top four.

"The fight and the spirit was incredible," Parker stated. "I’m proud of this team, and I’m probably more sad than frustrated that the players weren't rewarded for their efforts."

Brentford had taken a commanding 3-0 lead before an own goal just before halftime sparked Burnley's resurgence. Second-half goals from Jaidon Anthony and Zian Flemming, following Hannibal Mejbri's setup, brought the scoreline level. However, VAR controversially overturned a potential go-ahead goal for Burnley, and Mikkel Damsgaard secured the win for Brentford in added time.

Parker acknowledged the tactical adjustments that worked but lamented the "cruel" denial of points. The team faces Everton next on Tuesday.
