The enthusiastic turnout for the Boston Fleet's 5-1 victory over the Vancouver Goldeneyes was noted by players. Goldeneyes captain Ashton Bell stated that Edmonton fans have been "great" and "hoping for a team."

Head coach Brian Idalski echoed the sentiment, calling the addition of Edmonton "awesome" and beneficial for the player pool. The PWHL, currently with eight teams, plans to expand by two to four franchises for the 2026-27 season.

Edmonton has hosted more Takeover Tour games than any other Canadian city. Stan Kasten, a member of the PWHL advisory board, indicated that expansion news is expected in the coming weeks, with numerous cities expressing interest.
