Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will become the first India international to play in U.S.-based Major League Cricket (MLC).
San Francisco Unicorns announced his signing for the 2026 Twenty20 season.
Ashwin, 39, retired from Indian international cricket in 2024 after 287 matches and 765 wickets.
He ended his IPL career last year and was previously set to play in Australia’s Big Bash League before a knee injury.
“I fully embrace the responsibility of being the first Indian-capped player in MLC,” Ashwin said.
His goal is to help the Unicorns win their first championship while entertaining Bay Area fans.
MLC’s fourth season begins June 18.
