Jon Rahm's place in next year's Ryder Cup is in jeopardy. The DP World Tour announced Saturday it has granted dispensation to eight LIV Golf players, but Rahm was not among them.
Rahm, a former world number one, had reportedly refused to pay significant fines for playing in LIV events without authorization, fines estimated at over $3.3 million. European LIV Golf players risk losing their Ryder Cup eligibility if they forfeit their DP World Tour membership.
The eight players receiving conditional releases include Tyrrell Hatton and Adrian Meronk. They must meet strict requirements, including paying all outstanding fines and participating in designated DP World Tour events and media obligations, to avoid disciplinary action and retain their membership for the 2026 season.
This development comes as Rahm was a pivotal player for Team Europe in their 2023 Ryder Cup victory. The 2027 Ryder Cup is scheduled for Adare Manor, Ireland.
