The Los Angeles Rams have acquired All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs in a major NFL trade. McDuffie, 25, returns to his home state of California.
In exchange for McDuffie, the Chiefs will receive a package of future draft picks. This includes the No. 29 selection in the upcoming draft, a fifth and sixth-round pick in 2026, and a third-round pick in 2027. McDuffie spent his first four professional seasons with the Chiefs and has one year remaining on his rookie contract. Reports suggest the Rams and McDuffie are expected to work towards a contract extension.

McDuffie previously expressed a desire to play closer to his family, mentioning the Rams as a preferred team. He earned second-team All-Pro honors in the 2024 season, recording two interceptions and 13 pass breakups. The move was met with a terse reaction from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who posted "damn" on X.
