Evan Yaworski, a firefighter with the Royal Canadian Air Force based in Winnipeg, won the 2026 World's Strongest Firefighter competition in Ohio. The Saskatoon-born athlete became the first Canadian to claim the title.

The competition, held at The Arnold in Ohio, features firefighters from around the world. Yaworski, competing as a lightweight, relied on self-directed training and expert consultation to prepare.

The event was created by Arnold Schwarzenegger after the 2018 California wildfires to honor first responders and support firefighter charities.
