The St. Louis Cardinals have formalized a wild new fan tradition, dedicating a specific section of Busch Stadium for shirtless spectators. The organization announced that the upper right-field bleachers will now serve as a designated high-energy zone, inspired by the viral 'Tarps Off' movement.

This phenomenon began last Friday during a Cardinals victory over the Kansas City Royals. Caleb Cummings, a 20-year-old player on the Stephen F. Austin club baseball team, initiated the idea, which quickly swelled to about 100 fans in an empty section. The energy peaked when the Cardinals secured a walk-off win in the 11th inning.

Manager Oli Marmol lauded the fans for creating an incredible atmosphere, vowing to ensure their return. He followed through by buying them tickets for subsequent games and even invited them into the clubhouse. The players have also embraced the trend; Ivan Herrera saluted the shirtless mob by waving his jersey after his walk-off home run against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.

With the section now officially part of the ballpark experience-shirts are optional-the Cardinals hope to sustain that electric energy throughout the season. St. Louis, currently 28-20, faces the Pirates on Wednesday.
