Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka has been banned from the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the one-year suspension on Monday.

Shanaka, 34, captained Sri Lanka in the recent T20 World Cup. He unilaterally withdrew from the PSL last month, a move the board stated was "on grounds not recognized within the existing contractual framework." This action allowed him to join the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.

Shanaka expressed deep regret for his decision, stating he had no intention of joining another tournament when he pulled out of the PSL. He hopes to return to the league in the future.
