Former England midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has retired from professional football at 34 to pursue a management career. He has taken charge of Arabian Falcons FC, a club in the United Arab Emirates' third division.

Shelvey previously played for Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Swansea City, Newcastle United, and Nottingham Forest, earning six caps for the England national team.

He joined the Dubai-based Arabian Falcons last September and made eight appearances in the 2025-26 season. Shelvey stated his ambition is to reach the highest level of management and sees this project as an ideal opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities.
