Norway achieved a significant golden double at the ISU Speed Skating World Championships in Heerenveen. Sander Eitrem claimed the men's all-round title, overtaking defending champion Jordan Stolz. Ragne Wiklund became the first Norwegian woman in 88 years to win the women's crown.

The prestigious all-round championship tests skaters across multiple sprint and endurance distances.

In the men's competition, Eitrem, the 5,000m Olympic champion, used his superior endurance to lap Stolz in the decisive 10,000m race. Stolz, the American favorite, faded to fourth overall. Czech teenager Metodej Jilek took silver, and Poland's Vladimir Semirunniy earned bronze.

Wiklund, who shared the overnight lead with Japan's Miho Takagi, delivered a strong 5,000m performance to secure her victory. Dutch skater Marijke Groenewoud won silver, and Takagi, in her final career competition, claimed bronze.
