Police have launched an investigation into Islamophobic and xenophobic chants heard during Spain's friendly match against Egypt. Government officials condemned the behavior, calling it a disgrace to society. The incident occurred at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, where anti-discrimination messages were displayed but failed to stop the chants.

Spain's manager, Luis de la Fuente, strongly criticized the fans involved, stating that such behavior is not representative of football and must be isolated from society. He expressed repulsion towards any form of xenophobia or racism.

The Spanish Football Federation also condemned the acts, emphasizing its stance against racism in football. Catalonia's regional police force has opened an investigation into the incident.
