LONDON - Tottenham Hotspur’s assistant coach Bruno Saltor admitted the team struggled with the pressure during their crucial 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. This loss leaves Spurs just one point above the relegation zone.
Spurs had shown promise recently, securing a draw against Liverpool and a win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. However, their performance against Forest was far from satisfactory, leading to boos from disappointed fans.
"The first 44 minutes, I thought were good, really good... second half, probably we were not able to deal with the weight of the game," Saltor told reporters. He also noted the team’s need to minimize mistakes and improve defensively.
Captain Cristian Romero praised the fans, calling them vital for the upcoming “seven finals” after the international break. Saltor echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the team’s commitment to staying in the Premier League.
On current form, Spurs’ long-standing presence in the top flight is at risk.
