Jorrit Bergsma, at 40, claimed his second Olympic title in the men's mass start at the Milano Cortina Games. Marijke Groenewoud won the women's race, completing a Dutch sweep of the event. Denmark's Viktor Hald Thorup took silver in the men's event, with Italy's Andrea Giovannini earning bronze. Canada's Ivanie Blondin secured silver in the women's race, and the United States' Mia Manganello claimed bronze.

The Netherlands concluded the speed skating program with five gold medals, the highest tally of any nation at the Games. Bergsma and Thorup established a significant lead early in the men's 16-lap race. Bergsma then launched a decisive attack in the final laps to secure a convincing victory. Defending champion Bart Swings finished ninth after being caught out by the early pace.

Groenewoud, 27, secured her first Olympic gold with a controlled performance.
