AUGUSTA, Georgia - The Masters second round is underway at Augusta National, with world number one Scottie Scheffler facing chilly morning conditions. Scheffler, playing his first event since welcoming his second child, quickly shook off rust with an opening eagle. He starts three shots off the lead.
Defending champion Rory McIlroy posted a five-under-par 67, his best Masters start since 2011, and is aiming for consecutive titles. Patrick Reed is also in contention, tied for third, two shots behind the leaders.
The LIV Golf contingent had a difficult first round, with no player breaking par. Bryson DeChambeau shot a four-over, and Jon Rahm was six over.
Expectations are for Augusta National to become fast and firm as the tournament progresses, with low humidity and bright sunshine predicted.
