Mike Wagner, a four-time Super Bowl champion defensive back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has died at the age of 76. The Steelers confirmed his passing on Wednesday night. Wagner was an integral part of the franchise's "Steel Curtain" dynasty.

During his 10-year career from 1971 to 1980, Wagner was a two-time Pro Bowler. He recorded 36 interceptions and five forced fumbles. The Steelers drafted him 268th overall in the 1971 NFL Draft. He started in 116 of his 119 career games and led the league with eight interceptions in 1973.

Wagner's career was marked by his crucial contributions to the Steelers' championship success. He secured the game-sealing interception against Fran Tarkenton in Super Bowl IX, clinching the franchise's first Super Bowl title. His toughness, consistency, and team-first mentality were highlighted by Steelers owner Art Rooney II. Wagner was inducted into the Steelers' Hall of Honor in 2020 and remained connected to the organization until his death.
