President Donald Trump is standing by New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart after he faced backlash from left-wing media, fans, and teammate Abdul Carter for introducing Trump at a rally last week.

"So, when Jaxson gets harassed a little bit, he's also loved more," Trump told Lara Trump on Fox News' 'My View with Lara Trump.'

Trump and Dart had never met before the rally at Rockland Community College, but the president quipped about Dart's appearance and said, "He said, 'I love you, sir.'"

Carter, Giants edge rusher, publicly criticized Dart on X for introducing Trump but later deleted his post. Trump said of Dart: "He's potentially a great quarterback... He stays healthy, he's going to be great."

Dart, a 23-year-old from Utah, is a member of the LDS faith, hunts, fishes, and played college football at Ole Miss. Trump predicted Dart's conservative views would polarize further.
