Despite Sweden's late push and pulling their goalie, the game headed to a sudden-death overtime. After several attempts, Quinn Hughes found the back of the net to seal the win for the U.S.

Team USA will now face Slovakia in the semifinals. The other semifinal matchup features Canada against Finland, with both teams also winning their quarterfinal games in overtime.
