Team USA's cross-country skiers have added another medal to their Winter Olympics tally, securing silver in the team sprint.
Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher claimed the Americans' third medal in the sport, finishing just under two seconds behind Norway's gold medalists. The U.S. duo clocked a time of 18:30.35.

Italy's Elia Barp and Federico Pellegrino took home the bronze medal.
This marks Ogden's second medal of the Games, having previously won silver in the classical sprint. For Schumacher, it is his first Olympic medal.

The three medals for Team USA represent a historic achievement in cross-country skiing for the nation. Further success could come in the women's team sprint, with Jessie Diggins and Julia Kern still to compete. Diggins previously won bronze in the 10-kilometer freestyle race.
Norway has historically dominated this event, having won gold in the last two Olympic team sprints and in 2010.

Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, who competed in the winning team, is a standout athlete with multiple Olympic golds.
