Teenage sprinter Gout Gout claimed the men's under-20 100-meter title at the Australian junior championships in Brisbane, clocking 10.21 seconds. The 18-year-old overcame a slow start to secure his second consecutive national under-20 100m championship.
This victory follows Gout's historic performance at the Australian Athletics Championships, where he became the first Australian man to break the 20-second barrier in the 200 meters, running 19.67 seconds.
Gout has previously achieved a personal best of 10.00 seconds in the 100 meters, and he expressed confidence in breaking the 10-second barrier soon, despite missing the mark at the junior championships.
