There was no surprise in the women's singles final at Roland Garros on Saturday.

19-year-old Mirra Andreeva, competing under a neutral flag, swept aside Poland's Maja Chwalinska in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).

After a flawless run, dropping just one set in the entire tournament, Andreeva avoided the upset. Chwalinska, a qualifier who was the surprise package of the tournament, initially broke back to lead 3-2 in the first set. But hampered by the wind, she grew increasingly fragile against Andreeva's relentless play.

The world No. 8 wrapped up the victory, clinching her first Roland Garros title and maiden Grand Slam crown.
