President Donald Trump signed an executive order titled “Preserving America’s Game” to permanently protect the traditional four-hour broadcast window of the annual Army-Navy football game.

Speaking at the White House during a visit by the Navy Midshipmen-fresh off their 17-16 win over Army and a second straight 10-win season-Trump declared that no other college football games, including College Football Playoff matchups, may air during that time slot on the second Saturday in December.

“The annual Army-Navy game is truly one of the most special occasions in all of sports,” Trump said. “It’s beyond football-it’s a tradition of our country.”

He acknowledged the move could prompt legal challenges but expressed confidence: “We will get sued, but we win those suits and we’ll win this one.”

Navy head coach Brian Newberry praised the action, calling the rivalry “a game with a soul” that “deserves to be protected.”

The order explicitly bars any college football postseason or regular-season broadcast from conflicting with the Army-Navy game window-a response to playoff expansion and rising television revenue pressures.
