President Donald Trump praised Tiger Woods for seeking treatment after the golfer's DUI arrest from a rollover crash in Florida.

"It's a good thing that he's doing, but he's going to end up being terrific. He's a great guy," Trump told Reuters.

Woods announced Tuesday he was "stepping away" for treatment after being arrested Friday on DUI charges. His Land Rover overturned near his Jupiter Island home. No injuries occurred.

The 15-time major champion faces a May 5 court appearance.

Trump, an avid golfer who owns multiple courses, recently met with Woods to help resolve tensions between the PGA Tour and Saudi-backed LIV Golf.

Trump previously awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019 after his Masters victory.
