Oleksandr Usyk posted a training montage reminiscent of Rocky III, showing him coaching former rival Anthony Joshua. The video, set on a beach, mirrors the film where Rocky Balboa is trained by Apollo Creed after a devastating loss.
In the movie, Rocky overcomes defeat and personal tragedy. For Joshua, reality has been harsher. After losing his titles to Usyk in 2021 and 2022, Joshua faced a fatal car accident in late 2025 that killed his trainer and strength coach. He has not fought since.
“This isn’t a movie remake. It’s a new story being created right now,” Usyk wrote. The two have become close, with Joshua visiting Usyk in Ukraine in March. Usyk prepares to fight Rico Verhoeven on May 29, while Joshua is set to return against Kristian Prenga on July 25.
