The United States women’s ice hockey team, following their gold-medal victory at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games, has declined an invitation from President Donald Trump to attend his State of the Union address. USA Hockey stated that due to previously scheduled academic and professional commitments, the athletes are unable to participate. The team expressed gratitude for the invitation and recognition of their achievement.

The women's team secured gold in a hard-fought overtime victory against Canada. President Trump had also invited the men's hockey team, who also won gold, to the State of the Union. Their attendance remains uncertain due to the resumption of the NHL schedule.

During a call with the men's team, Trump offered to arrange military transport for their attendance and mentioned the women's team, noting he would have to invite them as well. The Professional Women’s Hockey League is also set to resume play shortly.
