Aston Villa manager Unai Emery says past semi-final heartbreak will fuel his side in Thursday's Europa League first leg at Nottingham Forest.
Emery, who lost the 2024 Europa Conference League semis to Olympiacos and last season's FA Cup semis to Crystal Palace, believes those setbacks are now motivation.
"We are going to use those experiences to do better this time," Emery said.
Villa sits fifth in the Premier League with 58 points but has only one away win in eight league matches.
Nottingham Forest, 16th and fighting relegation, enters the tie unbeaten in six league games after a 5-0 thrashing of Sunderland.
"With good vibes we can achieve miracles," Forest manager Vitor Pereira said.
