After a dominant performance in Colorado, the Winnipeg Jets faced the Chicago Blackhawks in a pivotal matchup Tuesday night.

The Blackhawks took an early lead, scoring their first goal of the game just 4:42 into the contest. Ilya Mikheyev, the 2025 draft’s third overall pick, netted his first NHL goal in his fifth game.

Despite being outshot 9-6 in the first period, the Jets refused to back down. In the second period, Josh Morrissey tied the game with a stunning goal just 66 seconds in. Later, Cole Perfetti scored on a power play, and Izak Rozén added a second goal for Winnipeg.

Chicago pulled within one at the 13:26 mark, but the Jets held strong. The Blackhawks failed to capitalize on a power play opportunity, allowing the Jets to escape with a 4-3 overtime win.

Kyle Connor scored the overtime winner for Winnipeg, his 34th of the season. Connor Hellebuyck made 18 saves in the win, and Mark Scheifele recorded three assists, breaking the 90-point barrier for the first time in his NHL career.

The Jets now sit one point behind the Nashville Predators for eighth place in the Western Conference. They next face the Dallas Stars on Thursday.
