West Ham United took a significant step toward Premier League survival, securing a vital 2-1 home victory against Everton on Saturday. Substitute Callum Wilson's 92nd-minute goal sealed the win, lifting the Hammers out of the relegation zone.

In a largely uneventful first half, Everton registered the only shot on target. The game's intensity increased in the second half when Jordan Pickford's save from Taty Castellanos led to a VAR review. Tomas Soucek then headed West Ham into the lead in the 51st minute from the ensuing corner.

Everton pressed hard for an equalizer, but Soucek made a crucial goal-line block to deny Thierno Barry. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall found the net for Everton in the 88th minute, leveling the score.

However, Wilson emerged as the late hero, sweeping home from close range in added time to secure the precious three points for West Ham.

The win leaves West Ham in 17th place, two points ahead of 18th-placed Tottenham Hotspur, and three points behind Nottingham Forest in 16th. Everton remains in 11th place, with their European qualification hopes dampened by a recent dip in form.
