New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected during Tuesday night’s 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays after a contentious dispute over whether Blue Jays center fielder Daulton Varsho actually made a diving catch off Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s bat in the seventh inning.
Boone, unable to challenge a second call after a failed earlier attempt, argued angrily with umpire Brennan Miller, yelling “Nice job!” before being tossed. Boone later admitted he “overreacted,” believing Varsho trapped the ball.
Despite the drama, the Yankees won. Ben Rice smashed a two-run home run to break a 3-3 tie. Toronto’s Ryan McMahon had earlier knotted the game with a three-run blast off Dylan Cease.
Boone’s ejection-the 48th of his managerial career and his second of the 2026 season-underscores mounting frustrations in the Bronx. But for now, New York holds the edge.
