AI startup Anthropic is set to brief the Financial Stability Board on cyber vulnerabilities in the global financial system, identified by its latest AI model, Mythos, the Financial Times reports.

The briefing, requested by Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, will involve finance ministries and central banks from G20 economies. Bailey chairs the FSB, which coordinates global financial rules.

Mythos, not yet released, is a cybersecurity model designed to detect decades-old vulnerabilities in web browsers, infrastructure, and software. Cybersecurity experts warn it could enable more sophisticated cyberattacks, especially against banks relying on legacy technology.

Last month, Bailey warned the model could “crack the whole cyber risk world open,” raising critical questions about its potential to identify exploitable system vulnerabilities.
