Autonomous shipbuilder Saronic Technologies Inc. has raised $1.75 billion in Series D funding at a $9.25 billion valuation. The company aims to accelerate large-scale production of unmanned vessels for defense and commercial markets.
Founded in 2022, Saronic develops software-defined autonomous platforms that integrate sensors, navigation, and mission control to operate without crew. Its vessels support tasks like surveillance, patrol, and data collection with remote supervision capabilities.
Saronic is also building Port Alpha, a next-gen shipyard, expanding production in Louisiana and Texas.
The company recently secured a $392 million Navy contract and unveiled its first 180-foot vessel, the Marauder, in under six months.
Funding came from Kleiner Perkins, Advent International, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Andreessen Horowitz.
"We’re building a new model of American shipbuilding," said CEO Dino Mavrookas. "One that combines engineering, manufacturing, and software for speed and scale."
