A system failure halted over 100 driverless taxis in Wuhan, China, on Tuesday. Passengers were stranded in traffic, with some unable to exit due to busy lanes.

The vehicles, operated by Baidu, are part of an early pilot program in Wuhan. This marks the first large-scale shutdown of autonomous taxis in China.
In San Francisco, Waymo’s self-driving cars also stopped recently due to a power outage. Baidu plans to introduce driverless taxis to the UK this year.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
