AT&T announced plans to invest over $250 billion in U.S. network infrastructure during the next five years. This significant outlay aims to expand fiber and 5G networks to meet surging demand driven by AI, cloud computing, and connected devices.
The company will also hire thousands of technicians this year to build and maintain its expanding infrastructure. The investment includes accelerating fiber broadband deployment, 5G home internet, and satellite connectivity for urban, suburban, and rural areas.
This initiative builds on AT&T's previous investment of more than $145 billion between 2019 and 2023. The company is also enhancing its FirstNet network for first responders and bolstering AI-driven threat detection for network security.
