Two cybersecurity startups, Bold Security and Onyx Security, have secured $40 million each in new funding to combat emerging AI cybersecurity risks. As organizations increasingly deploy artificial intelligence, new attack surfaces and operational risks are emerging that traditional security tools struggle to address.
Bold Security is developing a platform that transforms enterprise endpoints into AI-powered security agents. Their approach shifts security processing directly onto devices, analyzing user behavior and data interactions in real-time to detect anomalies before threats spread. This aims for faster response times and reduced latency by running AI models locally, keeping sensitive data on the device.
Onyx Security is addressing the governance and control of autonomous AI agents operating within enterprise systems. The company is building a secure "AI control plane" to monitor, manage, and govern how these agents interact with corporate systems and data. This platform discovers AI agents, tracks their decision-making, and enforces security and governance policies by approving, blocking, or modifying actions.
Bold's funding was led by Red Dot Capital Partners, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and Picture Capital. Onyx's funding includes a $5 million seed round and a $35 million Series A, from Conviction Capital and Cyberstarts.
