MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Crypto wallets are being rebuilt for AI agents, according to executives from Trust Wallet and Mesh who spoke at CoinDesk Miami on Thursday.
Arjun Mukherjee, CTO of Mesh, highlighted the cold-start problem: "An agent can't do anything until it has a wallet funded." He called crypto the "killer app" for enabling agent transactions.
Mesh launched Smart Funding, a product routing payments across chains for both human and agent users.
Felix Fan, CEO of Trust Wallet, described a dual approach: On the consumer side, AI acts as a copilot while users retain key control. On the developer side, Trust Wallet released an agent kit for autonomous on-chain actions, implementing EIP-8004 for agent identity.
On liability, Mukherjee stated: "AI should augment human judgment, not replace human responsibility." Responsibility lies with the deploying institution.
Both executives expect AI labs like X (with Grok) and Anthropic to launch their own wallets soon.
