A Singaporean technology firm, uCloudlink, has unveiled the PetPhone, a wearable device designed to enable pets to communicate with their owners. The device utilizes artificial intelligence, motion sensors, and GPS, connecting to an owner's smartphone app.
Owners can use the app to call their pets, play music, or receive alerts. The PetPhone tracks the animal's location and activity. It is programmed to recognize specific pet movements and translate them into calls or alerts.
According to uCloudlink CEO Jeff Chen, the PetPhone aims to provide a form of communication, allowing pets to signal needs like hunger or thirst through distinct motion patterns. The company believes this innovation brings pets into the AI age, moving beyond simple tracking devices.
