The European Commission is in direct contact with AI firm Anthropic over its new model 'Mythos,' European Economic Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis confirmed Monday.
Mythos is designed to find flaws in computer code. Cybersecurity experts warn it could turbo-charge attacks on banking technology systems. The model has not yet been made available to any European banks.
Dombrovskis said commission representatives met with Anthropic and were briefed on technical details. The EU is now assessing possible implications under existing policies and legislation.
