Fountain, a platform for high-volume hiring in the frontline workforce, has launched Cue, an AI-powered management capability. The new enterprise-ready system is designed to autonomously handle hiring and scheduling operations.

Cue screens candidates, sources talent, and assigns time slots without manual intervention. This aims to reduce the time it takes to hire new staff and ensure consistent support across multiple locations. The company stated this represents a "structural shift" in workforce management, by automating tasks like updating hiring workflows, sourcing candidates, filling shift gaps, and identifying underperforming locations.

"Frontline workers are the majority of the global workforce, yet frontline operations remain the least automated and optimized," said Chief Product and Technology Officer Salim Jernite. "Agentic systems go further. They run it, introducing a new era of autonomous intelligence for enterprise operations."

The platform embeds multi-agent orchestration directly, managing the entire workflow from operations monitoring to reporting.

Fountain's move addresses critical industry challenges. A report indicates 91% of hiring managers face urgent hiring needs, with over 60% of applicants abandoning processes due to complexity or length. The employee scheduling and shift management software market, currently valued at $2.5 billion, is projected to grow to $4.5-$6 billion by 2033, largely driven by AI and automation.

Fountain serves clients including Uber Technologies Inc., Deliveroo, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, Lime, and Safeway Inc.
