Netflix announced Thursday it has acquired InterPositive, a filmmaking technology company founded by Ben Affleck. The firm develops artificial intelligence-powered tools for movie production.
While financial terms were not disclosed, the move signifies Hollywood's growing acceptance of AI in content creation, a shift from earlier concerns about job displacement and intellectual property. Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria stated that new tools should enhance, not replace, creative roles.
Founded in 2022, InterPositive's AI model is designed to understand visual logic and cinematic rules, addressing real-world production challenges. Affleck emphasized the tools are built for responsible exploration, ensuring creative decisions remain with artists.
Ben Affleck will join Netflix as a senior advisor.
