Nvidia and South Korea's SK Group are set to announce a joint cooperation plan on Monday, as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang warns that the global memory chip shortage will persist for "quite a few years."
A spokesperson for SK Hynix confirmed that Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Huang will brief media on Monday morning. Huang, speaking ahead of the announcement, said the collaborative effort spans AI supercomputers, CPUs, new PCs, and robotics.
Huang cited demand-driven shortages across the entire supply chain, from wafers to packaging and silicon photonics, predicting the crunch will last "several years."
Huang and Chey, joined by LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin, shared a dinner in Seoul earlier this week-a sign of deepening ties between the AI and memory chip giants.
