Consumer-focused AI startup Pine.ai has launched an agentic AI service designed to automate time-consuming customer service interactions. The company’s Pine Voice and Pine Assistant services can negotiate bills, file complaints, cancel subscriptions and manage disputes with service providers without continuous human involvement.

Pine.ai says its agents save users an average of 270 minutes and secure roughly $400 in savings through negotiated discounts, refunds and billing adjustments. One customer saved $1,900 on auto insurance, while another reduced a fiber internet bill by $1,800.

CEO Stanley Wei said the platform uses its own voice model and orchestration framework to handle long, multistep interactions that rely on each prior step’s success. The system draws on multiple AI providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, and is designed to adapt dynamically to unpredictable responses.

Pine.ai agents identify themselves as virtual assistants during phone calls, and sensitive data is encrypted and processed in a trusted execution environment. The company has implemented anti-abuse mechanisms to prevent harassment.

Founded in mid-2024, Pine.ai recently raised $25 million to expand engineering, marketing and sales. The service supports English and Japanese, with a free tier and professional plans starting at $30 per month.

Although currently consumer-focused, business use cases are emerging. Several startup CEOs use the platform to manage email, prioritize tasks and negotiate vendor invoices. Pine.ai also has an early business offering that integrates with workplace communications and workflow platforms.
