Zoom is significantly enhancing its enterprise AI platform with new agentic capabilities across its Workplace, Phone, and customer experience offerings. The company aims to evolve from a meeting software provider to a "system of action," embedding AI directly into daily work processes.
Key to this evolution is the upgraded AI Companion 3.0, enabling users to quickly build custom AI agents and workflows. This includes new secure connectors for platforms like Salesforce, ServiceNow, Box, Google Drive, and OneDrive, allowing AI Companion to leverage both internal and external data. The AI learns user context, such as role and preferences, to deliver tailored insights.
New productivity tools, AI Docs, AI Sheets, and AI Slides, will allow teams to rapidly convert conversations and insights into documents and presentations. These tools integrate directly with Zoom meetings for real-time co-creation, aiming to connect rather than replace existing productivity suites.
Zoom Workplace, the company's all-in-one platform, now features agentic AI and a simplified, consistent user interface across desktop, mobile, and web. "Zoom Workplace has transformed from a meeting platform to a system of action, where AI helps you plan, act and collaborate seamlessly," stated Shawn Rolin, general manager for Zoom Workplace.
Zoom Meetings will also introduce a team facilitator, a Zoomie group assistant, and a real-time voice translator supporting five languages. A new capability will alert participants to synthetic audio or video, warning against "deepfakes," AI avatars, or disguised voices, referencing past incidents of AI-driven fraud.
On Zoom Phone, agentic AI will automate tasks like drafting emails and summarizing calls. The former AI Concierge, now enhanced, will handle SMS messages and act as a virtual receptionist for customer inquiries and scheduling.
Zoom's strategic goal is to become the central hub for digital work and action, providing an AI-powered foundation that unifies communication, contact centers, and productivity tools, serving diverse roles within organizations.
